Nanja: Stories Rewoven (exhibition), Numbulwar Numburindi Arts
This intimate exhibition brings together a selection of Yir (dilly bags) and baskets woven from ghost nets - abandoned fishing nets collected from the shores of Numbulwar. By transforming this harmful marine debris into vibrant works of art, Numbulwar artists continue their weaving traditions while speaking to urgent environmental concerns. Each piece carries both ancestral knowledge and contemporary innovation, embodying resilience, cultural continuity, and care for Country and Sea.
Exhibition Saturday 11 - Friday 31 October, Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, Saturdays 10am - 5pm
